We take pride in creating fun, creative food, while using local, sustainable products. The Local is a labor of love and I hope that it comes through in our food and service.

The Local is primarily a catering company based out of Covington, Indiana. We also serve take and bakes, attend the Danville Farmers Market, and serve food at Vermilion River Beer Company.

Meet Stephanie Lober-Ewing

I live in Covington, Indiana with my husband, Michael, and my daughter, Sydney.

For as long as I can remember I loved cooking and learning about different types of food. My mother and my grandma played a huge part in my love for the kitchen. For years I have collected recipes and ideas in notebooks. Last time I counted, I had 30 of them!

I have worked in the food industry for 30 years. From a young age I have had an entrepreneurial spirit. I sold vintage items in 2010,I opened a Specialty Food Store in 2012, got my Real Estate License in 2018, but I always knew that the food service industry was where I belonged.

In 2022, The Local was born. My vision is and will always be, creating fun, creative food, while using local, sustainable products. The Local is a labor of love and I hope that it comes through in my food and service.

You probably could, but I don’t suggest it. It will not only take longer, but will be wetter. I advice putting it in the refrigerator the evening before to thaw.

At least three months. When you get these meals, they have only been frozen a few days.

Most of the meals feed four people. The lasagna could feed at least six.

Yes, all of the food is either fully cooked or partially cooked. You are essentially rewarming it.
